I think that Charles Martel and Paul Mccartney are similar in a few ways. They are both great leaders and are respected by their peers. Charles Martel was known for his leadership skills in battle, and Paul Mccartney was known for his leadership skills in trying to find peace. While they were focused on different goals, they proved their ability and worthiness to the people around them. They helped to achieve goals that other people would not even dream of reaching. They are very good comparisons to one another.

I think that Charlemagne is similar to Lady Gaga. Charlemagne was a Frankish King who expanded his land and tested all of the war boundries to do so. He was strong, people and his army respected him and were loyal to him because he treated them well. When he was crownd Roman Emperer, he did not really toot his horn and was not very intersted in publicizing his title. Charlemagne is like Lady Gaga because they both have expanded their empire to far reaches. Lady Gaga spread her music so quickly and it became so powerful to her fans and Charlemagne spread his empire so far and became very power with his armies.Lady Gaga has many fans who respect her and are very loyal to her as were Charlemagne's armies who never turned their backs against him. Lady Gaga also won high titles in the music industry and instead of taking all of the credit, she created this alter person of hers (a boy) who helped her take some of the credit. Charlemagne was like this also because he was crowned a Roman Emperer, a title that had not been handed out in centries. Instead of tooting his horn by staying in Rome, he spent most of his time traveling with his armies.

uI think Clovis and Steven Cobert are a lot alike because they unified a group of people. Clovis brought together All the Frankish tribes into one group. While Steven Cobert brought together the conservatives in a rally for the resurrection of the sanity of our politics. They both did the virtually imposable by bringing together people that did not get along and in Steven's case brought together people of opposite political views to rally on something they all felt was right. This is why I think Clovis reminds me of Steven Cobert.

I think that Pepin the Short is similar to John Lennon. Pepin III made the transformation from the Merovingian dynasty to the Carolingian dynasty. The Pope crowned him king but asked for help in defeating the Lombards in return. There were tensions between the Pope and Pepin because they believed they both had more power than the other. He was the beginning of the high peak of the Medieval times. John Lennon also had problems with the Pope because he said he had more power than the Pope as well. John Lennon, being a part of the Beatles, was the beginning of a change in music. He also encouraged peace and change while Pepin started change in the dynasty. This is why I think the two are similar to one another.
The Pepin the third and the John Lennon comparison is from me. I forgot to put my name, my apologies.
I think that Clovis is like Kurt Cobain. Kurt Cobain was called "the spokesman of a generation" because his band Nirvana was one of the first recognized for Grunge music, making it popular. Just like Cobain was a first leader, so to speak, with something, Clovis was the first Frankish king. Clovis also had many people following him as did Kurt Cobain.

i think Pepin the Second is like Tiger Woods. He had two children with his wife, Plectrude, but he also had two other children. Two not born from his wife. He had a mistress who gave birth to two sons. Charles and Childebrand. Tiger woods is a golf player who is recently known for his mischievious scandals. he also had a mistress and has been ridiculed about it. With one simple act, Tiger can be compared to Pepin.

I think that Clovis is like president Obama. Clovis was the first to unite all of the Frankish tribes under one leader. Obama is the leader of the U.S. Both were very smart and wise leaders. Clovis controlled a lot of land and had to govern it well. Obama has the entire nation.

I think Louis I could be compared to Tim Tebow. Louis I was called “Louis the Pious” because he was very holy. This is one way that he is similar to Tim Tebow. Tebow is also very religious and can be seen praying on the football field. Additionally, Louis I was Charlemagne’s successor. Charlemagne was a great, powerful leader, and Louis I could not live up to Charlemagne’s great ruling abilities. This is similar to Tim Tebow because Tebow is trying to live up to the Denver Broncos’ great quarterback John Elway. Elway was one of the best quarterbacks ever, and the Broncos are trying to find a good quarterback to succeed him. Unfortunately, Tebow, like Louis I, just cannot live up to the high standards of his predecessor. Finally, Louis I was a weak leader. This is another way he is similar to Tebow because Tebow does not have what it takes to lead his team to the Super Bowl. When it comes down to it, Tebow doeos not have what it takes to be a great NFL quarterback, just as Louis I did not have what it took to be a good leader. For these three reasons, Louis I is similar to Tim Tebow.

Pepin III and former governor of Chicago, Rod Blagojevich, have a few commonalities. For one, both government leaders had previous jobs as stepping stones. Pepin III was Mayor of the Palace before becoming King, while Blagojevich was congressman prior to being the governor. Another similarity is that Pepin the Short was overshadowed by his father and son, diminishing his accomplishments like his victory over the Lombards. Rod's feats, such as banning discrimination based on sexual orientation, were also overlooked after he was accused of political corruption. Finally, Pepin III used his power to intimidate the Franks into electing him king like Rod Blagojevich had used his position in the attempt to make money from the sale of an open senate seat. While the citizens under each of their rules may not have noticed anything, these leaders were both playing sneaky games. They obviously are easy comparisons to make, not to mention the fact that they had their own unique looks with Pepin's height and Rod's hair!

I think that Charlemagne is in many ways similar to Stevie Wonder. Stevie Wonder was blind practically since birth. Growing up he was learned to do everything by himself and be independent. At an early age he started developing a love for music. His love for music transformed him into a child prodigy. Stevie learned to play every instrument that was put infront of him even though he could not see it. Charlemagne was thrown into his reign with a large task in front of him. He had to take command of his land and expand it while keeping total control. In all of the battles that he fought to keep his kingdom he never lost just like Stevie Wonder.

I believe that Charlemagne is a lot like Michelle Obama because they both used eductation to broaden their horizons and to get children to learn. Charlemagne used education to help the children and michelle took a step further and also takled obesity using the 60 minute a day for play
Initiative
I think that Charlemagne is similar to Lea Michele for a few different reasons. Charlemagne was very involved in emphasizing education. Lea Michele is involved with PETA. This relates the two of them because they both put forth a lot of effort into these programs. Charlemagne tried very hard to learn how to read and write which was not common during this time period. Lea Michele tries to protect animals, and doesn't eat meat. Another similarity between them is that they both have had two different jobs. Charlemagne was a king, and then an emperor. Lea Michele was an actress on Broadway, then moved to being an actress on the TV show Glee, and a movie. These are just two of the reasons why Lea Michele and Charlemagne are similar.

Simon Cowell has many things in common with Clovis, the first king of the Franks. Clovis was considered a cruel and brutal leader who expanded the Frankish kingdom. He is like Simon Cowell because Simon was the meanest judge on American Idol. After a few years of American Idol, it became very popular and spread, just like how Clovis spread his kingdom. Clovis was one of the original kings, a Merovingian. Simon was one of the original judges. The two were both greatly influenced by outside forces. Clovis was influenced by his wife and Simon by the other judges. They have many similarities, but also many differences.

I think that Louis I is similar to Carrie Underwood. Louis I was know as "The Pious" which means holy. He clearly has his religious beliefs and shows them. Carrie Underwood is similar because she has her strong beliefs in God and shows them as well. Some of her songs really do show her beliefs. For example one of her songs is called "Jesus take the wheel" where she expresses turning to God in a time of need. Both were very open about their beliefs and praise.

Louis I "the Pious." Is arguably one of the weakest Frankish Kings. His great weakness can be compared to the weaknesses demonstrated in Nick Cage. In all of Nick Cages we see how he can only live "the action star." However, he does this very poorly. He represents action movies just as Louis I did for Frankish Kings. They give their work a bad name. Another similarity is in the ways that they communicate with powerful people. Louis I was less powerful than the pope, who took most of the Kingdoms problems and ordeals into his own hands. This is similar to how Nick Cage selects his roles in movies. He goes to his assistants and asks them for "openings in the greatest action movies ever made." This is obviously the worst choice he could make. His assistants dictate his choices in up coming films that he is not good enough or prepared enough to act in, thus destroying the movies. Another similarity between the two are their families. Both of them have had three wives and have sons. they each have sons who were born out of marriage. Both of their sons have strange names. For example Louis I named his sons Lothair, while Cage named his son Kal-El after Superman's birth name. While Louis's sons caused him trouble by trying to take his Kingdom over and over again, Cage's sons also do troublesome thing's; his son Weston is the lead singer of a death metal group called Eyes of Noctum. This further reinforces the similarities between the two. _Charlie P.
I believe that Charlemagne is a lot like Taylor Swift. One way this is true is the fact that both Charlemagne and Taylor Swift are both popular and well known people (Taylor for her music, Charlemagne for his strong rule). Charlemagne also had officials called missi dominici, who traveled throughout his empire and listened to complaints, and also checked the effectiveness of the laws. This is similar to Taylor Swift, because she has people who walk around during her concerts, looking for people to come to a party she hosts afterwards. This is just two reasons why Taylor Swift and Charlemagne are similar.

I believe Lothair I, Louis the German and Charles the Bald are like Paris, Prince and Blanket Jackson for abundant reasons. Once Louis the Pious died, he left his sons Lothair, Louis and Charles in charge. They were disputively not the greatest rulers, and led a string of weak rulers from there on. When Michael Jackson died, he also left a sort of "power and fame" for his children, and probably could not live up to their fathers fame and greatness. After Louis the Pious died, and his kingdom was left to his kids, the Holy Roman Empire crumbled. The death of Michael Jackson also lead to a burst of fame for his children, only soon to die down, leaving the Michael Jackson legecy to slowly fade from everyday news, to mere small talk of a great celeberity. So in which, I believe Michael Jackson can relate to the sons of Louis the Pious.

Charlemagne was undisputedly an amazing leader, if not the best in his time. He greatly expanded the empire and rarely lost any battles, but he was modest and did not lie being the roman emperor. I believe that he is really similar to Nastia Liukin. They have so much in common! They are both amazing at what they do; Charlemagne at leading and Nastia at gymnastics. Also, Charlemagne highly supported elicitation being spread, so does Nastia with younger children. Charlemagne greatly expanded his empire and I believe that Nastia is greatly expanding gymnastics/ the uneven bars. Nastia comes off as extremely modest as was Charlemagne when he accepted the title as “Roman Emperor.” I know that Charlemagne and Nastia may seem like they have nothing in common, but in my eyes they have many similarities.

I think that Charlemagne is similar to Steve Jobs. Both Charlemagne and Steve share common characteristics, influential and powerful. Charlemagne was the greatest of all the Frankish kings and expanded his empire to amazing lengths. Steve, could be said that he is the "king" of Apple Inc, starting his own company with the help of many, creating it into a multi-billion dollar company and further changing people's lives. Both spread their influence in many different forms and both created bonds that were hard to break. Also they acquired loyal relationships with many different people; Charlemagne with his armies, and Steve with his employees and other companies. This is why I think they are similar to one another.

I think that Kelly Clarkson is similar to Clovis. She won American Idol during its first season as Clovis was the first king of the Franks. He won a battle as well as she won the show. Kelly Clarkson had many fans who voted her on to the finale and he had many followers and soldiers who supported him.

I believe that Oprah Winfrey and Charlemagne have many common traits, despite the obvious differences. They are both incredibly wise people, despite Charlemagne's inability to read. They both fought many battles, but Oprah's battles were against poverty, abuse, and discrimination, as opposed to war conquests. A third common trait between the two, is that they are both incredibly influencial people, who expanded and taught many people. Charlemagne focused on expanding the empire and teaching his people to become literate, and Oprah has done the same, raising awareness and helping educate and fund those in poverty. This is why I believe Oprah Winfrey and Charlemagne to be very similar influences in history. -Daniel B
I think that Clovis and Eminem have many similarities with eachother. Clovis is known to be a very brutal and forceful leader. A way in which he potrays he is forceful is that he made 3,000 soldiers convert to Christianity. Eminem is similar to this because in his raps he shows very brutal wording and many brutal things he has had to overcome in his life. Eminem also force feelings on people because of the way his songs are able to connect with the people that are listening. So overall, they both change peoples views on different aspects of life.

I think Pepin III is like Justin Bieber (ew). I think this because Pepin III was also known as Pepin The Short and Justin Bieber is also fairly short for a guy. Another reason they are similar is because Pepin III changed from Merovingian to Carolingian and Justin Bieber went through a big change when he became famous because thats quite the different life style for many average people. The third reason Justin Bieber and Pepin III are similar is because I have heard that Justin Bieber is a rude child and always questioned the authority between himself and his parents similarly to how Pepin III questioned who had more power, the Pope or the king. This is why Pepin III and Justin Bieber are somewhat similar.

I think that Clovis I can be compared to Tom Cruise. Clovis was a King. A rather good one who accomplished a lot in his life. He was well known by the people, obviously. Conquering Gaul, Unifying the Franks, and converting himself and many others to Christianity are among his accomplishments. Tom Cruise is a very popular actor, starring in many films and is easily recognizable, as is Clovis. Clovis has a lot to do with religion and conversion to Christianity. Tom Cruise could be classified as a "religious nutcase" being an outspoken member of the Church of Scientology. He funds and supports the church, as well as attempts to convert as many as he can to his religion, as Clovis did for Christianity. In movies, Tom Cruise is usually portrayed as a Hero of some sort, fighting evil. Clovis was also a fighter, winning multiple battles. It's interesting how people thousands of years apart could have anything in common.
