Louis XIV was the most well known and powerful ruler of the French Renaissance time. He strategized to gain land for the benefit of France. He focused a lot on having the king have the majority of the power and taking away power from the nobles. Lastly, when he passed away his successors were extremely weak and practically nothing compared to him. Also, the nobles gained some of the power back after his death. This is similar to Charlemagne because Charlemagne was also the most well known and powerful ruler for the France during the Middle Ages. He expanded the nation's territory just like Louis XIV did. Charlemagne also focused on gaining more authority than the nobles. After Charlemagne's death the Frankish empire began to have major problems and the nobles regained power again, similar to Louis. Although he was before Louis, he was similar and did many similar actions as Louis XIV did.

Louis XIV was the "Sun King" of France who ruled for 72 years, bettering his empire through expansion and financial improvements. He governed with strict discipline by having sole authority over all. As one of the most influential leaders from French history, Louis had many successors trying to follow in his footsteps. Peter the Great of Russia was similar to Louis XIV and imitated some of his policies. Like Louis, Peter ruled with absolutism and reduced the power of nobility. They were seen as pure servants to the kings. Another way the two were parallel was in the construction of new capital cities. In France, Versailles became Louis XIV's center of authority with a palace. St. Petersburg of Russia was completed by Peter the Great to bring the empire closer to the Western World. Finally, these rulers both participated in strenuous wars with reorganized armies. King Louis was in the War of the Spanish Succession while Peter the Great warred with Sweden. Both battles can be considered victories for the powerful leaders. Although they ruled over different and sometimes opposing empires, Louis XIV of France and Peter the Great of Russia are alike for these obvious reasons.

Louis XIV, strategic and one of the most powerful leaders of his time, led France to gain much influence over Europe during his time. He believed in the "divine right of kings," and lessened the power of the nobles, also he made major reforms in government which leads me to think that him and Henry VIII are similar. Henry VIII transformed the church and made him the head of the church, like how Louis XIV strengthened his power as king. Also, the successors of them both had turned out to be much weaker than them. Finally, both had a long and strong rule over their countries that created much influence over the people living among their supremacy.

Louis XIV was one of the greatest rulers in history. He ruled over France for 72 years. Louis XIV built a palace at Versailles and required that nobles live at his palace and serve him. This weakened the power of the nobles and strengthened his own powers. Louis XIV also encouraged trade, industry, and manufacturing. He built a massive army of 400,000 soldiers. Louis XIV was involved in many wars, exhausting the French people. Yet, by the time of his death, he had made France into a rich, powerful nation. One ruler who was similar to Louis XIV was Frederick the Great. Like Louis XIV, he was constantly involved in wars. In fact, the first 23 years of his reign were spent at war. Another way Frederick the Great is similar to Louis XIV is that he encouraged trade, industry, and manufacturing. He began many reforms in Prussia to make it into a stronger nation. Finally, Frederick the Great enlarged Prussia and increased its power and prestige, just like Louis XIV did for France. By the end of Frederick the Great’s reign, Prussia had become a powerful nation in Europe.

Louis XIV was well known and very powerful During the French Renaissance. Louis XIV did many great things and I think it would be good to compare him to Julius Caesar. Both Caesar and Louis XIV had absolute power. They also both were very ambitious and wanted to improve their countries power and wealth. Louis XIV and Julius Caesar were both conquerors and acquired land for their country. They are similar in other ways as well, but It seems as if Louis XIV wanted to be like Caesar, rather than Caesar be like him.

Louis XIV was a very powerful and strong French ruler whose reign lasted from 1643-1715. That led to a total of 72 years. He believed that God ordained him to govern France. Louis XIV increased royal authority by keeping nobles close to him. He also chose specific advisors that favored him. I believe that Louis XIV is similar to Catherine the Great for a few reasons. First, they both ruled for a shockingly long time, more than 30 years each, and were strong rulers throughout their entire reign. Catherine the Great ruled for 34 years. Second, they both tried to expand their empires. Lastly, they both cared about education. These are just a few of the similarities between Louis XIV and Catherine the Great.

Louis XIV was a powerful ruler. He made the nobles live in one place so he could keep an eye on them. Louis was also described as a model absolute monarch. He also hired intelligent advisors who helped the economy greatly. Henry II is most like Louis XIV for three reasons. First, Henry made nobles pay a tax for the army. Second, he had circuit judges move around from place to place to enforce laws. Lastly, Henry created a jury system in order to try a man.

Louis XIV became the absolute ruler in France, but as a child grew up in the county he would later rule and was able to witness what the country went through because of troubles with rebellions. He built the palace in Versailles and was then acused by his subjects of spending too much money and financially ruining France. Louis XIV had France engage in many wars before he died so that by the time his rule was over, the people of France were worn out by endless combat. I think that President Lincoln was most like Louis XIV because first, he grew up in the United States and witnessed as a child how racism could divide a country just as Louis XIV had seen how rebellions could hinder his county of France. Secondly, Lincoln was accused, by the citizens of America, of being stupid and wrong to think that the North and the South should be more unified. Louis XIV was alos criticized for his political decisions in the building of the palace. Lastly, Lincoln ruled in a time of civil war in America and when he died, it caused the war to name the North as the victor. Louis XIV was also ruling in times of war and his death prominently effected his country.

Louis XIV was an amazing leader who had amazing aspirations and goals. I believe that, in many ways, he is similar to the Pope, more specifically Pope Julius II. Both were involved in many battles, Julius II had gone so far as to even become known as the “warrior pope,” I will not go into discussing weather this is good or bad but it came up with good outcomes just as Louis did. Louis and Julius both tried extremely hard to deepen their rule Louis in France and Julius mainly in Italy, but all over. Also, both were patron of arts. For these reasons and some it is easy to find a connection between Louis XIV and Julius II.

Louis XIV, also known as the "Sun King", was one of the most important French kings. Although he went through almost constant wars, he reformed the country so much that France was one of the leading European powers. He also fought a war with Spain to help get his grandson on the Spanish throne. In some ways, Louis XIV is a lot like George Washington. Both of them helped to expand their countries, and help create good political systems. Also, both fought many wars to expand land and gain power from other countries. Lastly, both of them interacted with the Indians at one point. Louis with the fur trading, and George during the time of the 13 colonies. This is why Louis XIV and George Washington are two very similar people.

Louis XIV grew had a very poor childhood. As a child, his mother did not pay much attention to him and he was raised by the servants at his home. Like Louis XIV,Adolf Hitler grew up with a poor childhood. Adolf's father abused him and his mother resulting in his favoring of his mother. Both had wars that took place during their young years. Louis XIV was a young boy when the revolts by the Fronde were taking place. He was angered and embarassed by the revolts. Adolf Hitler was a young adult when he went off to fight in World War I and was greatly agrivated by Germany's defeat. Both of these two men had a thirst for power which most likely came from their childhood. Louis XIV and Adolf Hitler were willing to do what it took to gain absolute authority over their people.

louis XIV was a great ruler known as the "sUn God". he wnated peace among all his people and lessened the power of the nobles. He encouraged other industries and gained power through them. I believe Louis XIV is like President Obama because they both hire intelligent people to help the "Empire". and also like how louis kept his nobles close, Presiodent Obama keeps his political party close.Obama is trying to build a great nation, like how louis XIV built the palace versailles. President Obama and LouisXIV both had or have absolute power.

Louis XIV stands today as one of the most effective absolute rulers in history. His plot to reduce the power of the nobles worked amazingly well, and therefore increased the power of the monarch to an absolute level. In all of history, the leader I would compare him to most is Augustus of Rome. The two are very similar in intention. Both had sought to build an overpowering military which would help them reach their goals of conquest and power. Both had also surrounded themselves with intelligent individuals to help make small decisions, yet reserved the right to the most important decisions to themselves. Augustus has maintained the title of “First Emperor of Rome” which meant he was the first to have such power granted to such a single individual. Louis XIV was the first ruler to wield such a massive power in hundreds of years. Finally, under both, the taxation systems of their empires had increased drastically by reducing corruption and increasing efficiency. Both rulers left an amazing mark on their empires, and will be forever remembered for their power.

Louis XIV was the ruler of France from 1643 to 1715. During that very long time at the helm of France, Louis strengthened the central government, created a better system of taxation, persecuted religions other than his own, and improved the welfare of France in other ways as an absolute leader. A ruler who is like Louis XIV was Pope Innocent III. As Louis XIV persecuted the Huguenots, Innocent III persecuted and warred against the Muslims in the Crusades. Innocent that the Holy Roman Empire and his cabinet were servants to the church, Louis XIV said the same to the French nobles, who he forced to wait on him in Versailles. Just as Louis fought battles for most of his reign, Pope Innocent did too, which were the Crusades. Peace. -Charles P.

Louis XIV is the epitome of absolute monarchies. He is most like Catherine the Great for three reasons. One is because they both insanely popular and famous throughout history as some of the greatest rulers. Another is because they both were very pious in that Louis XIV had a motto being, “one king, one law, one faith” while Catherine was one of the most pious rulers in history. The third reason is both of them were connected to a big war in which he fought in one and Catherine’s then-husband was killed in one.

Louis XIV can be known as one of the most remarkable monarchs in history. He ruled for 72 years and for 54 of those years he was successfully controlling the French government. Many people wanted to upsage Louis XIV or atleast be able to successfully follow in his footsteps. I believe that Napoleon, although much different than Louis XIV, can still resemble him. They both were very successful in their times. They both had a great affect on government: Louis XIV starting absolutism and Napoleon being able to turn the chaos in France into a controlled government system. Also, after their deaths, both of their legacies still continued on and the work they had put in during the time they had reigned had stayed important. Lastly, both Louis XIV and Napoleon were able to keep a strong Empire because they were both extremely determined and never willing to give up. Napoleon showed this through his war efforts and Louis XIV showed this through his influtential and important additions to government, French culure, and all of the world around him.

Louis XIV, also known as "The Sun King", reigned for 72 years in France. He also reduced power of the nobles, and increased the power of the monarch, and he hired advisers that help the economy thrive. I think that Louis XIV is similar to Phillip the Fair for a few reasons. First, they both used a tax to gain control. Second, they both used a method to push away the nobles to gain more power. Lastly, they were both known to have a specific look about themselves.

Louis XIV ruled over France, and greatly improved the French government. He gained new territory for France. To limit the power of the nobles, he insisted that the most important ones move to Versailles. Napoleon Bonaparte has a lot in common with Louis XIV. They both enjoyed power and love from their people. They both were great leaders in France. Both Louis and Napoleon had to deal with military aspects early in their lives, since Napoleon went to military school and Louis was a child during the Fronde civil war. Both men had the utmost respect for their mothers, and spent much time with them.

Louis XIV, the Sun King, was undeniably the greatest ruler of France during the age of Absolutism. He ruled for 72 years, longer than anyone had in the past or in quite a while in the future. He had some significant accomplishments during these many years of his rule. One of which was ridding France of feudalism as well as he could. He also established a complete Monarch-ruled government in France that would last all the way until the French Revolution. One ruler that we have learned about who wanted to be like Louis XIV was Clovis I. He was the king of the Franks, as was Louis XIV. Clovis established the period of Merovingian rule, which lasted quite a while, as did Louis XIV's Absolute Monarchy. Clovis is considered to be the founder of a nation. With Louis XIV's accomplishments, he too would qualify for such a title. One last reason Clovis wanted to be like Louis XIV was because of Louis's lifespan and length of rule. Clovis only got about 45 years to rule and make changes and be great for his people. If he had 25 more years, who knows what other great accomplishments he would achieve or what other deeds would make him so much more supreme.

Louis XIV is the most well acknowledged and all-in-all best ruler during the French Renaissance era in Europe. He spent much of his energy into creating a better France. He did this by planning to gain land, giving the king (himself) more power than the nobles. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was very simililar to Louis XIV for a few reasons. First, FDR was a dominant leader in the history of his country (United States of America and had potential to become a monarcharal ruler. Louis XIV was by far the most successful ruler in the French Renaissance and he was a monarachal ruler. Second, FDR tried to remove power from the checks-and-balances, by electing his own Supreme Justices, and this was very similar to what Louis XIV did (took power away from the nobles). Lastly, FDR is similar to Louis XIV, because people repected the both of them, and they ruled for a longer than usual time period (Louis XIV for 72 years, and FDR for 12 years). Although FDR was much after The Sun King of France, he was generally very similar.

Louis XIV was one of France's greatest leaders. He made France a powerful and feared country; along with the luxuries he added. He wanted a strong central rule, and so did Joseph Stalin. Stalin was a dictator who also wanted to have an absolute rule. Louis’ successor was horrible which lead to his fall; Stalin’s successor took away most things that made the USSR “Stalinized”. Stalin showed that he was a very powerful man like how Louis loved to flaunt his power through luxuries and have powerful courts. Even though the two are from very different centuries, I believe Louis XIV can compare to Joseph Stalin.

Louis XIV is considered the ideal absolute monarch. He had complete control over everything in France, and was surrounded by intelligent advisors. I believe that Ivan the Terrible is similar to Louis XIV because he also had absolute power over his empire. They both used advisors that would help them make important decisions about different problems in the country. Although from two different countries and mindsets, both Louis XIV and Ivan the Terrible were powerful leaders.

Louis XIV ruled France for 72 years. He ruled as the Sun King and thought of himself as a saint. He was actually somewhat mediocre, but his capable advisers strengthened his power and benefited France. Peter the Great was like Louis XIV because he tried to get people to cut their beards and wear shorts similar to those of the West. He also tried to start trade like France and the West. Finally, he got the nobility's ranks to depend on how much they kissed up to him, but not quite to the extent of Louis XIV.
