Louis XIV was the longest ruler of France. He was known as the sun King because of how he believed everything revolved around him, and he a made France one of the most powerful nations of Europe. He also was a strong leader who played his cards correctly so that he had absolute rule. Someone most like him would be Duke William of Normandy because when he was refused the crown he didn't give in and neither did Louis when he had to control the nobles. William fought for his crown and won it showing his courage to take what was his with no fear. Louis also fought for power among the European nations. Lastly William conquered many lands for his nation, like Louis defeating revolts and taking land for France.

Louis XIV was the model of an absolute monarch in france. He coined the phrase saying the state is me meaning the state evolved around him. Louis the XIV had a lot of things in common with peter the great of russia. first they were both the definition of an absolute monarch. also, they both had a strong hold on what the nobles of there countries did and were aloud to do. To add, they were both consumed with western cloths and customs.

Louis XIV was a strong absolute monarch of France. He was called the Sun King because everything around him was about him and nothing was more important. I believe that Joseph Stalin is like Louis XIV for three reasons. One being that he also had absolute power over his people, two he did what he could to get what he wanted like killing his own people. Finally he also increased his country's power during his rule.

I think Catherine the Great was a lot like Louis XIV in many ways. Louis XIV was the longest ruler. He ruled for 72 years! He was known as "the sun king" because he believed everything revolved around him, and in a way it did. Louis XIV was an absolute monarchy who expanded France's territory, never gave up, and had a strong rule. Catherine the Great was like Louis XIV because like Louis XIV, she expanded the empire she ruled. They both also had a very strong rule over the citizens in their empire. Another way they are Catherine the Great and Louis XIV are a like is both rulers worked very hard to make the empire they ruled the strongest place in the Northeast such as Europe and Asia.

Louis XIV was the "model" for Absolute Monarchies. He was the longest ruling King of France and was called the "Sun King" because everything was revolving around him. He was able to lower the power of nobles so that he could become the absolute ruler of France. Under his rule France became the biggest European power. A ruler very much like him would be Julius Caesar. Both Caesar and Louis were able to have absolute power over their people. They were also able to take over other lands. Lastly, they were both able to bring their empire's power to a climax.

Louis XIV of France would be considered as the last and greatest ruler in Europe, he has accomplished accomplished many things as much as other rulers throughout many centuries. Peter The Great of Russia is similar to Louis. Both peter and Louis became rulers at young age. Second just like Versailles Peter had built the capital St. Petersburg and made the place active. Finally they both have been in war to protect their country from other Europeans and to strengthen their homeland.

Louis the Great or, "The Sun King", was called so due to peoples belief that everything revolved around him. He. Was. Everything. He expanded France's territory greatly. A person like him would be Cardinal Mazarin. He was a diplomat & served as chief minister of France. He entrusted to end the war of Mantuan. He was like Louis because many people relied on him to end the war, like how Louis was responsible for the improvement in France. Mazarin was also a great militaristic ability, as did Louis in defeating other regions to gain territory. Lastly, Mazarin made peace with Habsburg Spain by The Peace of Pyrenees which added land to France, like Louis expanded France's land as well.

Louis XIV, the sun king, was very absolute, defiantly earning to be called an absolute monarch. King Louis often used the term "L'etat, c'est moi" meaning I am the State, he established France as a European power. He then moved himself and all the nobles to Versailles to keep and eye on them not to mention make the nobles serve him. I think a goood example of someone who would be like him is Niccolo Machiavelli. Machiavelli was involved in politics and diplomacy, he wrote advice on how to be politically savvy and he wasn't concerned with virtue or morality. he wanted what he wanted, when he wanted it, at whatever the cost.

Louis XIV was the absolute monarch and also longest ruling, ruler EVER! He was king of France for over 72 years. He built a majestic palace called, The Palace of Versailles. He required that nobles lived there after he sufficiently weakened their power by making them destroy their palaces. In return strengthening his own power. Louis XIV also encouraged trade, industry, and manufacturing. He was able to assemble an army of around 400,000 soldiers, because he and the French were involved in many wars. Which exhausted the French people, but still made France the supreme nation in Europe. I think that Louis XIV was a role model to Fredrick the Great. He was constantly involved in wars, 23 years to be exact. Similar to Louis XIV wars for the French. Another way Frederick the Great is similar to Louis XIV is that he encouraged trade, industry, and manufacturing, which develops Prussia into a stronger nation. Lastly, Frederick the Great expanded Prussia and increased its power. Louis XIV did the same thing for France. By the end of both their deaths they accomplished to expand their nations and increase its power.

Louis XIV was one of the strongest French rulers in history. Known as the "Sun King", he believed he was everything and that everything should be about him. He had absolute power over his empire and destroyed all power the nobles once had. I think he is a lot like Adolf Hitler. This is because they both turned their countries into one of the greatest powers in Europe, they both held complete power over their respective countries without any opposing powers, and they both were treated as almost god-like leaders.

Louis XIV was called the sun king and for good reasons. He ruled for a whopping 70 years and had the lords fighting over his poop bowl. I think a ruler like Louis XIV was Fredrick I. He wore very fancy "80's rockstar" like clothes, had a very large head of hair, and he ruled a country in Europe.

Louis XIV was the “Sun King”. Everything he did as a ruler revolved around him. He was the longest ruling ruler with over 70 years. He had an incredible army strategy and was able to take over a lot of land because of it. Louis often said "L'etat, c'est moi" which means “I am the State”. I think Louis XIV is like Napoleon Bonaparte because everything he did as a ruler also revolved around him. He thought he was the greatest power in the world, just like Louis XIV did.

Louis XIV ruled France for over 70 years and was known as the Sun King. He got this name because his power radiated all over France and even Europe, like the sun. I think Cardinal Richelieu is a lot like Louis. First, he gained control over the nobles, like Louis, who even had them as his own servants. Second, he wasn't afraid to use war to empower his country. Finally, he made France a great power in Europe and even laid the foundations for Louis.
Louis XIV was one of the greatest rulers France has ever seen.he was also good enough to inherit the name the sun god. I think that Alexander the great was a very good copy of Louis, because Alexander was a very self-centered man a lot like Louis. they're both alike also because they both expanded their empires to great lengths. And they both have 80's rock star like looks and personalities.

Louis XVI was a very powerful ruler and was the longest ruler. He had the nickname "Sun King" because all the planets revolve around the Sun and he believed he was the center of the universe. He was a model of an absolute monarch. He said "L'etat, c'est moi" which means The state is me which shows how powerful he was and thought he was. I think him and Alfred the Great are very similar because they both were very powerful rulers and had a great effect on each area they ruled. Also they conquered many lands. They both have a nickname that describes them very well.
I forgot to put my name on the one above.

Louis XIV was a strong leader of France who tried to make the king supreme in France and France supreme in Europe. He made the king supreme in France by attempting to end corruption in taxes, forcing the nobles to live with him (in order to watch them), and uniting France under one rule by revoking the Edict of Nantes, which gave the Huguenots the freedom to govern themselves. He tried to make France supreme in Europe by fortifying the military, incresasing France's land area in Europe, adding new colonies, and attempting to take the Spanish throne. George W. Bush reminds me of Louis XIV in that both attempted to improve the tax system and fought wars to attempt to take control of other areas. George W.Bush lowered taxes (which seemed like a good idea at the time) and began wars with Iraq and Afghanistan to try to control terrorism. Technically, George W. Bush's attemt to stop terrorism was not completely the same idea as Louis XVI's attempt to control Spain, but both mean to show that the respective country was a superpower and could afford to fight such wars. The United States went out of its way to end terrorism in another country in the same way that France went out of its way to control Spain.

Since Louis XIV was the role model leader in France, many later emperors attempted to measure up to his standards. Many people tried but ultimately failed to be a greater ruler. In my opinion, Peter the Great was most like him for building a great palace to rule from and being a long lasting, influential leader. -Kathryn R

Louis XIV had a 72 year reign, the longest rule of a king in France. He was also named the Sun King because he was supreme, and thought that everything revolved around him. Phillip II is somewhat like Louis XIV for three reasons: Both were absolutists, and believed that they should be supreme rulers of their countries. Also, Louis XIV built the place at Versailles, just as how Phillip II built the Escorial. Finally, both had the opportunity to shape a monarch how they wanted it to be, since their roles as king were not yet predetermined.

Louis XIV was not only an outlandish and resolute ruler, but he was also power hungry. From forcing France's nobles to live with him and serve him to seizing fresh territory near the Rhine river, Louis quest to expand French territory marks one of the most important events in history. Genghis Khan reminds me of Louis XIV because like Louis and Richelieu he was a master military strategist and founded one of the strongest powers in the world at the time. - Christian T

Louis XIV ruled France for 72 years. He ruled as the Sun King and thought of himself as a saint. He was actually somewhat mediocre, but his capable advisers strengthened his power and benefited France. Peter the Great was like Louis XIV because he tried to get people to cut their beards and wear shorts similar to those of the West. He also tried to start trade like France and the West. Finally, he got the nobility's ranks to depend on how much they kissed up to him, but not quite to the extent of Louis XIV.

Louis XIV was a French king whose reign lasted 72 years. Though he was very egocentric and power hungry, his efforts often helped France as a whole, through political reforms against feudalism and land expansion.
Charlemagne is very similar to Louis XIV in many ways. Both of them held very expansionist policies, attempting to make their empire grow. Both were devoutly religious, where Charlemagne defended the pope and the Roman church, Louis headed the Gallican church and always performed his daily rituals. Finally, they were both rather inclined for celebrations and partying, with Louis constantly having celebrations at Versailles, and Charlemagne adamantly refusing his doctors orders to stop eating roast meat and similar at feasts. However, Charlemagne was much more inclined to dress as a commoner, very different from Louis.

One of the strongest rulers in France was Louis XIV. Everyone bowed down to him and wanted to be like him; he was a model of an absolute monarch. Julius Caesar and Louis XIV share similar characteristics. They both knew they were the best and acted like the best. Their people had great respect for them and these two rulers expanded their empires greatly. Both rulers had a strong influence in throughout their time and area.
