In ancient Egypt, hieroglyphs were used to write scriptures and books. It was also used to mark down important events, such as a new pharaoh or a battle. Hieroglyphs were the main written language of Egypt, and we are able to understand their religion and way of life because of it.

In ancient Egypt, mummification was used often. It was a way of preserving bodies that required emptying them of all their organs and blood. This allowed the Egyptians to preserve the bodies for thousands of years, which has allowed us to discover many things about their civilization.

Egypt's architecture includes one of the seven wonders of the world. How they created these magnificent pieces of art is still disputed. This is a form of art that the Egyptians were able to achieve and perfect after hundreds years of studying the science required and practicing the best ways to create Pyramids.
The Book of the Dead was a set of spells and rituals put with the deceased to, as the Egyptians believed, aid them in arriving at the afterlife. In later years, they were written on scrolls and buried with the dead, usually in the same layer of coffin that the dead was in. No two of these scrolls had the same information; some had pictures, some had shortened spells, some were written in a different format. These scrolls helped modern historians to better understand ancient Egyptian religion and rituals.
